ITB Berlin, which takes place from 7 to 11 March 2007, expects this year’s fair to top even the successful 2006 fair. “Compared with last year the number of applications received for the ITB Berlin 2007 remains at a high level,” according to the director of the ITB, David Ruetz. “In its 41st year the leading trade show for the international travel industry continues to provide a concentrated display of the current trends in this sector from all over the world, and is still attracting new exhibitors.”

This year’s partner country, India, will be filling an entire hall as well as presenting an attractive supporting program, he said. In all, a total of just under 11,000 exhibiting companies from some 180 countries and territories are expected at the ITB Berlin 2007.

ITB Berlin is going to introduce new sectors to this year’s schedule. The ITB Holiday Real Estate section and the ITB Holiday Real Estate Congress will offer information on holiday real estate and second homes. The market for holiday real estate is becoming increasingly important. In response to this development, the ITB Berlin is introducing this section to the fair for the first time this year.

Latest polls show that around three-quarters of all foreign properties owned by German households are in Europe.
