Spyros Kokotos, owner of the well-known resort, embarked on this business venture in the hope of extending Greece’s tourism beyond the three month summer peak. Minister of foreign affairs, Dora Bakogianni, attended the inaugural ceremony. Fanni Palli Petralia, tourism development minister, was also present to cut the ribbon. She expressed the necessity of such ventures to upgrade services in the tourism sector throughout Greece.
