Astir Palace Vouliagmenis’ Arion Resort and Spa, part of The Luxury Collection of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, recently opened its new spa. This new addition to the hotel group’s facilities provides a holistic escape that aims to calm the senses through a rich program of rejuvenation, relaxation and beauty treatments.

The new spa is the first project of the investment program of the hotel group and cost 2,9 million euros. At the recent launch, Anthimos Thomopoulos, vice president and managing director of the hotel group, said that the company has already seen “growth and positive results from its cooperation with the managing company Starwood Hotels & Resorts.”

He then referred to future projects such as cooperation with the Vouliagmenis Marina, which is now under the auspice of the tourism development company.

The spa is 1,000 square meters and has two levels, with the epicenter being the heated pool. The pool has a therapeutic massage system, a hydro-massage for feet and a Jacuzzi. The area that surrounds the pool includes an aromatic sauna, a Turkish bath, a foot-spa, five therapy rooms, a relaxation lounge and Cleopatra’s Bathroom. The Arion Spa is the only spa in Athens with a sea view.

The company’s total investment plan that amounts to 25 million euros will be completed in 2009 and envisages a new public access beach and the full refurbishment of Aphrodite hotel.
