Some 250 students from five primary schools volunteered to clean the beach of Bella Vista on Chios and students from the primary school of Perdika in Aegina cleaned the beach of Marathonas as part of this initiative to keep the beaches clean. The enthusiasm of the students for their participation was evident in the slogan for the event, which was “Children clean for their future.” It is through this message that Hellenic Seaways, the student volunteers and local authorities indicated the necessity to keep our beaches and coasts clean. Hellenic Seaways also asserted the need for new environmentally friendly vessels to be routed in the Aegean.
