During the four-day event, that was under the auspice of the Tourism Development Ministry and sponsored by the Hellenic Tourism Organization, 83 exhibitors participated in an exhibition space of 1,600 square meters. The organizer, Helexpo, said it was satisfied with the outcome as 20,000 people visited the event. This indicates the need for events of this kind to inform consumers of the options available in various resorts throughout Greece as well as the various tour packages. The exhibitors who took part voiced satisfaction for the organization and outcome of the event and expressed the desire to participate in next year’s exhibition to be held in May 2008. Visitors were also asked about their impressions of the event and the overall response was positive. Tourism Development Minster Fanni-Palli Petralia who inaugurated the event said: “The success of this year’s Summer Holidays Expo has made it an annual institution for the tourism industry and it will from now on cement the start of every summer season.” Follow GTP Headlines on Google News to keep up to date with all the latest on tourism and travel in Greece.
