Greece Number One Destination for Cypriot Tourists

Greece, and particularly the Greek islands, appears to be the number one choice of vacation for Greek Cypriots. According to Akis Kelepsis, president of the Association of Cyprus Travel Agents, in a recent announcement to a Cypriot newspaper, “more and more Greek Cypriots chose individual packages over organized tours.”

Consequently, some 250,000 Greek Cypriots spent their holiday in Greece during July and August and many chose to travel with charter flights or ferries to the Greek islands.

Skiathos was a popular destination for Greek Cypriots as were Rodos, Santorini, Mykonos, Kos, Zakynthos, Kefallonia, Corfu and Crete, all of which were accessible through charter flights from Cyprus.
