Interest generated by the Philoxenia exhibition (November 1-4, Thessaloniki) for buyers has exceeded expectations a month before the event. Travel agencies and tour operators from 50 countries and some 3,000 potential buyers have contacted the organizers so far, and the list, according to the organizers -Helexpo National Exhibition Agency- increases daily so as to have the widest possible range of representatives from the world travel industry at the exhibition.

In its twenty-third year, Philoxenia aims to enlarge its scope of markets. Amongst the classical markets such as the United Kingdom, Russia, Italy, Germany and Spain, there will also be new markets such as Malaysia, India, and developing markets such as Poland, Hungary, Romania and F.Y.R.O.M.

The list of buyers includes large tour operators from around the world such as Carlson Wagonlit Travel and Expedia, but also smaller travel agencies with a tradition in outgoing tourism such as Enzian Reisen and Voni-Touristik of Germany. The organizers of Philoxenia claim that 2007 so far has seen the highest number of hosted buyers and hosted media participation than any other year.
