The five-day event offered visitors, according to the organizers, Europartners, a unique experience of yachting and lifestyle up to par with other international exhibitions of this kind held in Cannes, Monaco and Genova. The organizers were pleased to announce they received 50 percent more visitors than last year and this year’s event has been the most successful since the launch of this exhibition at Lavrio in 2002. Exclusive Yachting 2007 hosted 250 unique recreational yachts from some 100 world-renowned brands as well as from many Greek high quality and design manufacturers. Visitors were able to see these yachts in water and some of them were on display for the first time ever, both in Greece and worldwide. Visitors were also treated to a presentation of selected products of yachting and lifestyle, many of which enrich the on board lifestyle but not exclusively so. Some of these items included clothes, watches, perfumes, premium alcoholic beverages and well-known Greek wine labels. According to the organizers, this proved very popular with the guests and attracted a lot of positive commentary. The organizers also commented on the success of the stands themselves that were original in design and presentation. There was very positive feedback on the Exclusive Lounge, created for the first time this year by manufacturing company Avax, which offered visitors a relaxation point surrounded by the utmost lifestyle products at the end of the exhibition. According to Alexis Kaniaris, managing director of Europartners, “Greek sea tourism is a sector of the utmost importance for the Greek economy and the Greek seas are not only a source of revenue and development, but also of culture and recreation.” He added, “Exclusive Yachting offers an upgrade to nautical tourism and gives Greece a promotional push as a cosmopolitan destination amongst the most developed in the Mediterranean.” The event was inaugurated by Deputy Merchant Marine and Island Policy Minister Panagiotis Kammenos in the presence of GNTO Secretary General Athanasios Oiconomou and many members of the yachting and tourism sector.
