Key Tourism Figures George Doukas by GTP editing team 1 November 2007 written by GTP editing team 1 November 2007 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 5 President, Panhellenic Federation of Tourism Enterprises Philoxenia 2007 greeting. POET would like to extend a warm welcome to all visitors and exhibitors at this years’ Philoxenia exhibition, which has seen increasing improvement and enrichment over the past few years. A special greeting and thank you goes out to our colleagues, tour operators and travel agents from abroad, which have steadily supported Greek tourism, their participation and enterprising action, and to the media, who promote our country and portray the uniqueness of our tourism product. The development of Greek tourism continues dynamically in parallel with the positive development of world tourism, that in 2007 is expected to exceed 870 million tourists. Our optimism for the future and recognition of what tourism offers to millions of people worldwide goes hand in hand with the need for our industry to question the serious change in the climate of our planet, and the responsibilities it must subsequently accept. Our conviction is the responsibility of all tourism enterprises, large and small, to actively participate in the reduction of environmental repercussions of tourist activity. The creation of responsible and viable tourism constitutes a significant priority that concerns us all!
