Youtravel.com Sees Great Success in First Year

Online accommodation supplier Youtravel.com is ambitious in 2008 as in its first year of operation -launched October 2006- the Athens-based company received some 70 million euros revenue from hotel bookings only. According to Youtravel.com founder and chief executive, John Kent, “our ambition for 2008 is to double this and exceed 150 million euros revenue.” Youtravel.com opened a version of its site in Greece in June 2007 with deals for the local market, priced in euros, and with specific marketing plans for the region.

The company has offices in three Italian cities, (Trieste, Rome and Milan) as well as its head office in Athens and UK base in Woking, Surrey.

Youtravel.com has a large network of office and affiliates in Greece, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Sweden, France and China and employs 150 people in total. In its first year, the Athens-based company was used for bookings from over 300,000 people and 3,500 affiliate hotels in the Mediterranean, the Middle East and the United States. In November 2007 Youtravel.com struck an exclusive deal to dynamically package EasyCruise voyages. The agreement enables agents to book the line’s second ship EasyCruise Life via the Youtravel site.
