A new scheduled route from Ljubljana in Slovenia to Athens commenced last month served by Adria Airways, Slovenias’ national airline and a regional Star Alliance member. The carrier flies three-times-weekly from Ljubljana to Athens on Tuesday, Thursday and Sundays, with an 86-seater Canadair Regional Jet 900.

According to Director of the Slovenian Tourist Board Dimitrij Piciga, “Greece is one of the most attractive tourist destinations for Slovenians and there is also a growing interest in Slovenia among Greek tourists.” Adria Airways representatives claim the airline’s new service “Seeks to accommodate both business travelers, given the increased economic cooperation between the countries, and Slovenian/Greek tourists whose interest in these capital cities is growing.” On this service Adria Airways has cooperated with Aegean Airlines to offer good connections to the Greek Islands and Cyprus and special prices on these routes. Zeus Kompas SA is the General Sales Agent for Adria Airways in Greece.
