Agritourism Gains Ground

Tourism Minister Aris Spiliotopoulos said recently that the new agritourism company “Agrotima SA” is the corporate section of the promotion and implementation of the tourism ministry’s policies on issues of specific forms of rural tourism and mild recreational activities.

Mr. Spiliotopoulos gave a speech during a special event in which he received an educational DVD on rural tourism from the Lambrakis Foundation. Brigitta Papastavrou, president and CEO of Agrotouristiki, underlined the importance of rural tourism and informed that some 1,569 agritourism businesses are advertised through the portal www.agrotravel.gr, which receives an estimated 5,780 visits per day from Greece and abroad.

The new agritourim company “Agrotima SA” is the transformation of the Agrotouristiki company, which promotes rural and regional tourism.
