The first formal graduation ceremony of Minoan International College (MIC) took place recently at the Moevenpick Resort & Thalasso hotel in Gazi Amoudara, Crete. A group of 24 students from various countries (Bulgaria, Romania, India, Greece, Lithuania, Russia and Kenya) were awarded with Tourism and Hotel Management diplomas from Andreas Metaxas, founder of MIC and Chairman of the Board of Trustees. “You are our first graduating class and, as such, will play a major role in defining MIC’s significance to the tourism and hospitality industry,” MIC President Nikos Skoulas said to the students. “I hope that you all will remember that, as college graduates, the pursuit of your personal goals needs to be encased in a broader commitment to give back to your communities and countries both as active and thoughtful citizens and as skilled professionals.” Minoan College is not subordinated to any foreign university or college institution but is an independent entity and under the supervision and control of the Greek Ministry of National Education and Religious Affairs. All courses are taught in English, as it is the predominant language in the international tourism market and business in general.
