Mayor Kaklamanis has requested to use the premises of two of the closed down florist venues near Parliament on Vasilissis Sofias avenue to create tourist information booths.

Athens Mayor Nikitas Kaklamanis recently said that a municipal info booth might be created on the ground floor of the entertainment store Public at Syntagma Square.

Speaking to the municipal radio station Athina 9.84 the mayor said that the info booth would be similar to the one run by the Athens Tourism and Economic Development Company at Athens International Airport and offers useful information to visitors from abroad.

Mr. Kaklamanis also said that he is awaiting an answer from Parliament President Dimitris Sioufas on the matter of using the premises of two of the closed down florist venues near Parliament on Vasilissis Sofias avenue to create tourist information booths.

In addition, Mayor Kaklamanis mentioned the City’s intention to create a special volunteer corps that will provide useful information to tourists.
