The new Alitalia has launched 10 daily direct flights from Greece to Rome, Milan and Naples and comfortable connections to further 22 Italian destinations and 47 European and worldwide cities. Alitalia also announced the appointment of Maurizio Dello Monaco as Athens-based Country Manager for Greece, Cyprus, Malta, Serbia and Albania, replacing Orazio Mauro Gagliano. Mr. Dello Monaco has held many senior positions within Alitalia and was most recently regional manager of Northern Europe. The airline also will proceed with a major renewal of its fleet, which will be completed by 2013, with the acquisition of a total of 90 A320 Airbus and 14 A330 Airbus.
