According to the deputy minister, the selection of the specific exhibitions depended on where Greece’s tourism product would receive the highest promotion in line with a drastic reduction of expenses, compared with previous years. Mrs. Gerekou stressed that after negotiations with construction companies, costs were cut 20-40 percent compared to 2009. Last month the GNTO participated in a total of 14 international tourism exhibitions. The organization’s participation will grow this month, as it will take part in 22 travel fairs. GNTO’s participation in international tourism fairs will continue in March as it is scheduled to take part in another 18 exhibitions.
