According to the organizers of the event, the foreign travel agents will attend workshops and networking events with Greek suppliers to facilitate the development of working business relationships that would lead to an increase in travel and tourism to Greece. Also, agents will be guided through popular Greek tourism destinations, historical sites and attend a 3-day cruise. Already confirmed among the attendees are American Express Travel, Four Seasons Travel, Liberty Travel, and Carlson Wagonlit. “Greece has been experiencing a decline in the travel and tourism industry, which has directly affected many local businesses,” the organizers said in a press release. Royal Olympic Athens and the Hellenic American Chamber of Tourism aim to put Greece back in the “global tourism spotlight” through targeted marketing campaigns and educational tours.
