The Culture and Tourism Ministry last month announced that the “Tourism for All” program would go ahead this year despite the severe financial difficulties of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO).

The “Tourism for All” program for 2010-2011 is aimed at the domestic market and offers discounted vacations to Greeks from 9 July 2010-31 March 2011.

The program is divided into two sub-programs through which 110,000 vouchers will be given to beneficiaries through the Citizen Service Centers (KEP). Beneficiaries include pensioners, individuals with a 67 percent disability and multi-child parents.

Those entitled to vacation through the GNTO’s “Tourism for All” program will have the opportunity to spend their holiday in Greek hotels and other lodges of all categories that obtain the GNTO seal.

The “Tourism for All” program will be covered by an eight million euro budget.
