Brigkita Papastavrou, president of Greek sustainable tourism organization Agrotima (former Agrotouristiki), recently handed in her resignation to Culture and Tourism Minister Pavlos Geroulanos, Greek press reports said. Her resignation came after a report of the public administration inspectors’ agency went public and said that illegal activities had taken place in regards to the organization’s finances.

“There has been no waste of public money in the company as alleged in a report of the public administration inspectors’ agency,” Ms. Papastavrou noted in a memo to the culture and tourism minister.

Ms. Papastavrou also listed a series of arguments and underlined that the inspectors’ report is “based on many inaccuracies and lies.”

According to the inspection report, Agrotima’s share capital is 450,000 euros and what has remained available is 18.68 euros.

Ms. Papastavrou has requested a review of the report.
