The British are invited to visit Greece and become acquainted with the country’s natural beauties, historical monuments, entertainment and modern infrastructure in a secure environment for visitors, Deputy Culture and Tourism Minister Yiorgos Nikitiadis said at the opening of the “Greek beach by the Thames” event in London. For 10 days in late June residents and visitors of London had the opportunity to go to a Greek beach set up by the UK-based GNTO office along the south bank of the Thames river. Over 550 tons of sand was accumulated in a space of 1,200 square meters along with erected umbrellas and kiosks that offered Greek local products.
