“To be considered among the top three airlines in the world is a huge achievement for Qatar Airways and takes us a step closer of being recognized at the best airline in the world,” Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said.

Qatar Airways was recently named among the top three airlines in the world at the latest passenger’s choice Skytrax World Airline Awards 2010. The airline picked up four different awards. Some 18 million air travelers took part in the 10-month long survey, between July 2009 and April 2010.

In June Qatar Airways launched non-stop flights from Doha to Barcelona and entered the South American market with non-stop daily services between the Qatari capital and Sao Paulo in Brazil and the Argentinian capital of Buenos Aires.

Qatar Airways currently operates a modern fleet of 83 aircraft to 89 key business and leisure destinations across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and North America.
