Culture and Tourism Minister Pavlos Geroulanos and Bulgarian Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Traycho Traykov signed in late July a tourism cooperation protocol during the first joint session of the Greece-Bulgaria High-Level Cooperation Council held in Sofia.

The protocol seeks to encourage cooperation for the promotion of cultural tourism with emphasis on the organization of joint tourism packages. Specifically, these packages would target Chinese, Japanese and U.S. tourists.

The protocol sees to the promotion of special tourism products and exchange of know-how on wine routes, religious tourism, yachting, cruise, ski centers, spa and thalassotherapy.

The promotion of winter sports tourism was also included on the list.
