Passengers from a country included in the U.S. visa waiver program must first request and be granted ESTA authorization (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) before traveling to the United States, according to airline carrier Air France.

The authorization, which was free of charge, was priced at $14 as of 8 September. Payment can be made only by credit card.

According to Air France, the U.S. authorities have forbidden travel for any passenger that has not paid the fee.

ESTA requests may be submitted via website https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov.

Further information on the ESTA authorization can be found via airfrance.com (“preparing your trip/safety measures” section), travel agents, Air France ticket offices, or 3654 (in France).
