General Pan-Hellenic Federation of Tourism Enterprises (GEPOET)

PHILOXENIA 2010 greeting.

The international exhibition of Philoxenia that takes place every year in Thessaloniki -a unique travel destination- is a major event that serves as a meeting point for matching culture, tourism and entrepreneurship.

As one of the largest and long-lasting federations in tourism we would like to express our deepest gratitude to all participants in the exhibition, who keep on supporting and investing in the Greek tourism sector over the years.

During the final stages of the world financial crisis, and during the interim of the Greek financial crisis, it is reasonable to expect our tourism sector to have been seriously affected, after the slowdown of global tourism during the previous years, which seems to have been reversed.

GEPOET, which represents members and unions from all over the country specialized in incoming and outgoing tourism, coaches, travel agencies, tour operators and yacht brokers, keeps up with the latest trends.

Our federation is always in touch with government bureaus to promote the interests of our union and ensure that the quality of the provided services in tourism is always high. Our country is now, more than ever, ready to welcome any visitor.

Looking into the future, we strongly believe that the sustainability and the alternative forms of tourism would contribute to the gradual and significant growth of the Greek economy, expanding and diversifying our tourism product even more.

May we all have a constructive and profitable season during the forthcoming year 2011.

Good luck to all of us.
