Four new projects for the development of Greek tourism, budgeted at 107 million euros, are underway, Deputy Culture and Tourism Minister George Nikitiadis informed an audience last month at the 11th Real Estate Conference, Prodexpo, held in Athens in late October.

The deputy minister added that some 50 projects are planned for various tourism categories worth some 134 million euros.

According to Mr. Nikitiadis, the first two programs for “Green Tourism” and “Alternative Tourism,” with a budget of 30 million euros and 28 million euros respectively, were already underway. The other two projects “Modernize in Tourism” and “Cooperation-Innovation in Tourism,” budgeted at 27 million euros and 22 million euros, respectively, are to begin early next year.

While referring to the planned projects that are being evaluated, the deputy minister noted that 22 projects with a budget of 36 million euros are related to “Utilizing clusters of tourism development”; 17 projects with a budget of 13.5 million euros for “Paths”; nine projects with a budget of 35.5 million euros for “Tourist Ports”; four projects budgeted at 26.5 million euros for “Museums”; and five projects with a budget of 22 million euros for the “Utilizing Public Tourist Property.”
