According to the report, during the 2008-2009 period a number of illegal acts that included random use of economic resources, informal decision making and “political favors” had taken place. Following the release of the report, Culture and Tourism Minister Pavlos Geroulanos described Greece’s GNTO as a “deeply sick outfit.” The minister told the Greek press that the organization misspent money that should not have been wasted the way it was. The report pointed the finger at 14 executives and employees of the GNTO and proposed disciplinary proceedings against them.
