The second phase of the “Greece, a part of our soul” awareness campaign that aims to attract domestic tourism back to Greece was launched by the Alliance for Greece group at an event held last month at the amphitheater of the Theodore Karatzas Megaron, National Bank of Greece.

The initial phase of the campaign was launched in July 2010 and ran until 31 December 2010.

The new campaign includes four television and radio spots that present everyday Greek citizens and draws attention to traditional Greek lodges, winter tourism, Greek culture and the warmth of Athenian hospitality and entertainment.

The spots are creations of global marketing communications company McCann Erickson.

The second phase of the “Greece, a part of our soul” campaign will run until November 2011.

According to Deputy Culture and Tourism Minister George Nikitiadis, the initiative could serve as the basis of cooperation between the public and the private sectors as there is a common interest and common goal.

The campaign is a private initiative of the Alliance for Greece group that includes companies from the Greek communication sector such as advertising, television, radio and publishing.
