Company updates Travel Plan Puts Religious Tourism On The Agenda by GTP editing team 1 May 2011 written by GTP editing team 1 May 2011 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 7 His Beatitude Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Ieronimos and Travel Plan’s CEO George Daskalakis during the signing of the memorandum of understanding that is expected to attract worshippers from abroad to Athens. “We are committed to plan attractive tour packages of Byzantine travel for everyone,” Travel Plan’s managing director Giorgos Daskalakis said last month during the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Holy Archdiocese of Athens’ Mission charity organization. Based on the memorandum, both sides will cooperate for the promotion of Byzantine tours and Orthodox monuments in Athens to worshippers from abroad. According to Mr. Daskalakis, the Greek capital has many places of worship that are not known of and through Travel Plan he plans to promote tours to these places. “With tourism as our weapon, we will try to unite culture, tourism and Orthodoxy and open the doors of history, because history is the ambassador of every country when shaping its future,” he said. The president of the Greek National Tourism Organization, Nicolas Kanellopoulos, attended the signing of the memorandum.
