“We are committed to plan attractive tour packages of Byzantine travel for everyone,” Travel Plan’s managing director Giorgos Daskalakis said last month during the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Holy Archdiocese of Athens’ Mission charity organization.

Based on the memorandum, both sides will cooperate for the promotion of Byzantine tours and Orthodox monuments in Athens to worshippers from abroad.

According to Mr. Daskalakis, the Greek capital has many places of worship that are not known of and through Travel Plan he plans to promote tours to these places.

“With tourism as our weapon, we will try to unite culture, tourism and Orthodoxy and open the doors of history, because history is the ambassador of every country when shaping its future,” he said.

The president of the Greek National Tourism Organization, Nicolas Kanellopoulos, attended the signing of the memorandum.
