The Mayor of Athens has embraced the Athens Every Week program and contributes to the tourism policy of the Culture and Tourism Ministry, part of which is the development of urban centers to city break destinations, according to the Greek National Tourism Organization’s secretary general, Yiorgos Koletsos. Athens Mayor Yiorgos Kaminis and City of Athens Technopolis last month presented the Technopolis “Summer 2011” program that included many events organized in collaboration with the Culture and Tourism Ministry within the framework of the Athens Every Week program. “The Athens Every Week program gives Athens the opportunity to become a unique capital, not only of Europe, but also worldwide,” Mr. Koletsos said at the “Summer 2011” presentation. The program involves more than 40 events to be held over a period of 90 days from last month through September.
