Kalymnos, the sponge diver’s island in the Dodekanissos complex, will become the meeting point for free diving fans this month.

The Kalymnos Diving Festival, to be held 18-24 July, commemorates those that perished harvesting sponges at sea.

During the festival visitors will become familiar with sponge-diving methods (deep-sea helmet, fernez, modern) and can attend or participate in the Skandalopetra Freediving Games 20-24 July.
