Turkish Airlines Launches Istanbul-Thessaloniki Weekly Route

New Istanbul-Thessaloniki route by Turkish Airlines.On 27 May 2011, Turkish Airlines launched a four-times weekly route between Istanbul and Thessaloniki in an attempt to boost tourism between Turkey and Greece. Pictured are Alternate Development Minister Socratis Xynidis, Turkish Airlines Chairman Hamdi Topcu, Turkish Ambassador to Greece Hasan Göğüş, Thessaloniki Vice Prefect Apostolos Tzitzikostas and Thessaloniki Mayor Yiannis Boutaris at the celebration ceremony. Turkish Airlines also announced last month that it would add two more flights from Istanbul to Athens as of 1 July.
