According to an announcement, the hotel chamber’s initiative came after the events (violent street riots) that occurred in recent months and tarnished the image of Greek tourism. The Hellenic Chamber of Hotels’ awareness video on tourism can be seen online via youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8arhjAGEP8 With its message, the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels invited all parties to support the tourism sector develop its full potential without external obstacles and inconveniences for tourists. The chamber called for all to contribute and provide a platform that would give the “necessary boost in tourism so we can deal with the economic crisis with the less possible losses. “Greek Tourism is a social activity that concerns us all,” the chamber concluded. The hotel chamber received permission for the video’s free transmission by the Greek National Council for Radio and Television.
