During a recent press conference in Heraklio, Crete, the group’s CEO, Andreas Metaxas announced that the Creta Maris Beach Resort was returning to the Cretan gastronomy culture and the exclusive use of local products within its food services. According to a decision by the group’s management, in an effort to support the local market and local agricultural production, local producers will supply the resort with local products. The new plan sees the Creta Maris Beach Resort operating as an all-inclusive resort to promote an integrated package of local food goods. “During these difficult times we see more and more guests that want to plan and control their expenses during their holiday stay,” the resort’s CEO said. All-inclusive resorts have received much criticism from the business community as they supposedly alienate tourists from the destination. “That is why we will bring Crete into the Creta Maris,” Mr. Metaxas said. “What differentiates the Creta Maris Beach Resort from the usual all-inclusive hotels is the triptych ‘environment-Crete-affordable price,’ the combination of which is followed for the first time as a basic concept of operation and marketing,” he said. In collaboration with experts, the resort will implement a special program based on the Cretan diet and every day will offer guests a real aspect of traditional Crete. The motto of the resort’s new identity will be “Green-Cretan-All Inclusive” and include all-inclusive high quality services.
