Air Travel Air Traffic Controllers Anger Tourism Professionals by GTP editing team 1 November 2011 written by GTP editing team 1 November 2011 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 6 “Your repeated strikes, walkouts and “white strikes” are killing tourism and have brought all domestic tourism businesses to the verge of destruction,” the Pan-Hellenic Federation of Tourism Enterprises (GEPOET) stressed last month in a letter to the Greek Air Traffic Controllers’ Association. Last month Greeks and tourists faced problems with their flights due to “white strikes” of the air traffic controllers who were protesting against their impending accession to the single payroll and other non-economic and institutional demands of the Greek Government. According to the press, some flights were delayed for even over two hours. GEPOET denounced the flight delays and cancellations due to the industrial actions of the air traffic controllers and warned that visitors were receiving negative impressions that were defaming the country and of course would “never return to Greece for a vacation.” Follow GTP Headlines on Google News to keep up to date with all the latest on tourism and travel in Greece.
