Destinations news Athens To Welcome Leading German Tour Operators Next Month by GTP editing team 1 April 2012 written by GTP editing team 1 April 2012 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 27 Germany’s leading travel industry media group FVW Mediengruppe will hold its annual workshop in Athens next month and give Greek hoteliers the opportunity to discuss strategies to strengthen the tourism demand from Germany to Greece, the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels announced last month. Leading German tour operators and conference organizers are expected to attend the workshop that is scheduled to take place at the Hotel Grande Bretagne on 2 May 2012. After the workshop, the German tour operators are also scheduled to visit Greece’s top hotel resorts. The chamber’s initiative is part of an action plan focused on markets that lag in bookings to Greece. In an announcement, the chamber noted that Athens was chosen to host the workshop so as to give the message to guests and the massive audience of FVW in Germany, that the Greek capital, which is the first reflection of the country, is not “unstable.” “Greece is still attractive and -with quality service and competitive prices- is ready to welcome all tourists that rank the country among the most popular tourist destinations in the world,” the chamber said.
