Trade Associations - Gov Tourism Professionals Reassure Foreign Travelers by GTP editing team 1 July 2012 written by GTP editing team 1 July 2012 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 15 “Greece remains one of the top destinations in the world and we reassure holidaymakers that this summer remains business as usual,” the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (SETE), said in an announcement to foreign visitors. Last month, the association assured holidaymakers that their holiday to Greece this summer would not be in jeopardy due to the difficult financial and political situation the country is facing. At the time of SETE’s announcement, Greece was in preparation of its second round of parliamentary elections, scheduled to take place on 17 June. “We want to encourage international tourism and assure potential tourists that there has never been a better time to come to our country,” SETE said. The General Pan-Hellenic Federation of Tourism Enterprises (GEPOET) also assured holidaymakers that nothing had changed or been influenced by the current economic crisis in regards to Greece’s history, nature, lifestyle, natural beauty, unique islands, archaeological sites/museums and mountainous destinations. “We, the Pan-Hellenic federation of tour operators and travel agencies, the tourism professionals, as well as the authorities, verify that you will be treated the way guests have been treated in the country since antiquity: as family members,” GEPOET’s announcement said.
