Citing Greek tourism’s offer to the Greek economy, SETE has predicted that in a decade, Greek tourism could contribute significantly to the country’s development as much as all other sectors of the economy combined. “For this ambitious goal to be achieved and for the country to be ranked among the top 10 best destinations worldwide, specific structural changes are required,” SETE said in a press release. According to the association, the most important structural change is the creation of a modern, functional and efficient company that would have a sole objective to market Greek tourism. “Marketing Greece” is the company to be set up jointly by the Greek public sector and SETE to develop a tourism-marketing program for the whole country, its individual tourism destinations and products of the Greek tourism portfolio. During the conference, the organization and operation of the company will be presented along with details of SETE’s cooperation with the Tourism Ministry, the Greek National Tourism Organization and Greek regions. The title of this year’s conference is “Marketing Greece-demonstrating and highlighting the qualitative identity of modern Greece” and it will take place at the Athenaeum InterContinental Hotel 29-30 October 2012.
