MICE Minister Kefalogianni To Take Part In 1st Greek Investment Forum In N.Y. by GTP editing team 5 October 2012 written by GTP editing team 5 October 2012 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 13 Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni will depart for the U.S. tomorrow to participate in the 1st Greek Investment Forum scheduled to take place 9-11October at Bloomberg’s headquarters in New York City, the Tourism Ministry announced today. The forum is entitled “Greece under Reform: Creating Growth-Revealing Opportunities” and is organized by the Athens Exchange and the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce in New York. “Greece’s participation in the first Greek Investment Forum marks an important milestone in our campaign abroad and to international markets that aims to attract large numbers of foreign visitors in view of the new tourism season,” Mrs. Kefalogianni said. The tourism minister will give a speech on the first day of the forum entitled “Tourism – A major pillar for growth.” The organizers of the forum aim to present the important structural changes currently taking place in Greece and highlight business opportunities to attract large institutional investors – mainly from the U.S. “The purpose of this event is to create institutional trust in Greece at a political, economic and business level, in order to help the global business community understand the business opportunities existing in the Greek Capital Market,” according to the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce. While in the U.S., Mrs. Kefalogianni is scheduled to have meetings with prospective foreign investors, key players of the Greek Diaspora and leading foreign tour operators.
