The number of travelers arriving from abroad declined to 10,301,155 from 10,560,658 in the same period a year earlier. According to SETE, if arrivals to Athens are excluded from the total of international arrivals, then the sign is positive (+0.4 percent). Arrivals to the Greek capital dropped 11.93 percent during the January-September period to 2,128,914 against 2,417,412 last year. Greek airports that showed an increase in international arrivals are those of Thessaloniki (7.43 percent)*, Kerkyra (7.36 percent), Chania, Crete (8.89 percent), Kefallonia (13.32 percent), Mykonos (5.72 percent), Skiathos (4.28 percent). * It is noted that Thessaloniki’s arrivals are not separated between Greeks and foreigners.
