Trade Associations - Gov Greek Tourism Minister Highlights Priorities At NY Forum by GTP editing team 9 October 2012 written by GTP editing team 9 October 2012 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 9 Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni Attracting and supporting Greek tourism investments is the Tourism Ministry’s top priority and part of the government’s plans to revive the Greek economy, the country’s Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni said today, 9 October, during her speech at the 1st Greek Investment Forum at Bloomberg’s headquarters in New York, US. More specifically, the tourism minister referred to investment support, the development of an institutional framework for new tourism products and the establishment an investment-friendly framework for tourism. Particular reference was made to multifaceted tourism products consisting of a combination of accommodation and special tourism facilities (golf, thalassotherapy centers, etc.) and special accommodation complexes. Mrs. Kefalogianni said the ministry aimed to directly cooperate with the Environment Ministry to revise and update the special zoning plan for tourism. In addition, the tourism ministry plans to develop an institutional framework for marine tourism and medical tourism in collaboration with the relevant ministries. The 1st Greek Investment Forum is entitled “Greece under Reform: Creating Growth-Revealing Opportunities” and continue until 11 October.
