Anastasios Liaskos, Secretary General, Ministry of TourismPhiloxenia 2012 greeting.

Tourism is a strong pillar for the development, prosperity and competitiveness of our country.

Philoxenia, the main Tourism Exhibition in Greece, is a prominent promotional event for the travel sector, professionals, employees and those who invest in the most dynamic and growing sector of our national economy.

Philoxenia 2012, should signify optimism and confidence for Greece and the Greek economy, which has been experiencing perhaps the most crucial turning point, illustrating the determination that Greece is changing and is demonstrating on a day to day basis, through reforms, its comparative advantages and growth prospects.

Greek Tourism has proven resistant to the crisis, by developing a dynamic recourse, improving its economic figures and contributing effectively to growth and social cohesion.

With strong political will and determination, at the Ministry of Tourism, we are implementing an integrated and reliable strategic plan.

We are forming a new brand identity for Greece, we are creating a stable investment environment, we are promoting effectively our tourist product to the international markets, while supporting extraversion, innovation and tourism entrepreneurship.

With the cooperation of the institutional entities and the experienced tourism professionals, as well as the support of local communities, I am confident that we will be able to improve the facts and figures, by creating a positive international image for Greece and achieving a strong and competitive tourism force for European and international tourism.

I congratulate you on your work and wish you every success for the most complete monthly tourism guide, Greek Travel Pages and Philoxenia 2012.
