Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni and renowned UK author Victoria Hislop inaugurated the Greek National Tourism Organization’s (GNTO) pavilion at the 33rd World Travel Market (WTM) in London, UK, yesterday, 5 November. Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni (right) holds Victoria Hislop’s latest book “The Last Dance” at the Greek National Tourism Organization’s pavilion at the 33rd WTM. The Last Dance is to be published next week. Ms. Hislop is known in Greece for her best seller book “The Island,” a fictional account of a real life leper colony, the island of Spinalonga, just off the coast of Crete. During the tourism minister’s press conference at the WTM, Ms. Hislop said Greece’s uniqueness was “a source of inspiration” for her book, which has sold over a million copies worldwide. “Even though I am not Greek, I feel Greek at heart,” Ms. Hislop said. GNTO’s 813 square meter pavilion hosts 36 Greek exhibitors that include tourism businesses and associations.
