Surveys, Trends & Stats Greek Airport Arrivals Fall In First 10 Months by GTP editing team 12 November 2012 written by GTP editing team 12 November 2012 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 20 International arrivals to Greece dropped some 3.4 percent in the first 10 months of the year, according to recent data provided by the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (SETE). The number of tourists arriving from abroad declined to 10,957,013 against 11,340,744 during the same period in 2011 the data showed. The data came from 15 Greek airports that account for 95 percent of all airport international arrivals in Greece. According to SETE, if arrivals to Athens are excluded from the total of international arrivals of the January-October 2012 period, the overall drop stands at 0.7 percent. Arrivals from abroad to Athens Airport, dropped 12.1 percent to 2.3 million in the 10 months through 31 October, SETE estimated. Reductions were also recorded at the airports of Rodos (-7.26 percent), Kos (-7.26 percent), Kos (-5.70 percent), Heraklion (-2.48 percent), Zakynthos (-5, 37 percent), Samos (-8.56 percent), Santorini (-0.97 percent), Aktion (-1.37 percent) and Kavala (-14.66 percent). On the other hand, Greek airports that recorded an increase during the first 10 months of the year were those of Thessaloniki (6.43 percent), Kerkyra (6.41 percent), Chania (8.84 percent), Kefalonia (13.08 percent), Mykonos (6.88 percent) and Skiathos (4.24 percent).
