Event News Athens’ Holiday Events Set To Kick Off by GTP editing team 10 December 2012 written by GTP editing team 10 December 2012 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 7 Athens Mayor Giorgos Kaminis will launch the City of Athens’ holiday events on Tuesday, 11 December, at 7pm, with the illumination of Syntagma Square. The melodies of the Symphony Orchestra and the Big Band of Athens will accompany the launch and create a festive atmosphere that will spread to every neighborhood. Sixteen Christmas trees, created by 20 interior architecture students of AKTO College, were selected to adorn Syntagma Square this year. The City of Athens has planned a series of events in Syntagma, Monastiraki and Klafthmonos squares that will spread throughout 26 neighborhoods and 13 cultural centers with 550 artists. Xmas Info-point at Syntagma Square The Athens Development and Destination Management Agency (EATA) announced it would operate a new info-point at Syntagma Square during the holiday season to inform and update Greeks and foreign visitors about the events scheduled to take place in Athens from 11 December 2012 until 5 January, 2013.
