The cooperation is said to serve the needs of the Hellas Tourism Satellite Account and the recently announced Hellas Tourism Observatory. The signing of the memorandum confirms the creation of a modern statistical information system in the tourism sector to support the formulation, monitoring and evaluation of the country’s tourism policy. Through the cooperation of the ministry and ELSTAT, Greece will fulfill its obligations to provide accurate statistical data to the European Union, national institutions and international organizations and reliable and timely figures to professionals that are directly or indirectly related to tourism.
