Athens International Airport and the Athens School of Fine Arts careers office recently launched an art competition and invited creators to submit ideas for functional outdoors seating proposals, designed to work at the same time as planting installations, for the outside areas of the airport. Four proposals were applied and placed in the roundabout area of the long term airport parking area, aiming at its aesthetical upgrade. The competition follows the recent cooperation between the airport and the school, on the occasion of its 175-year presence in Greece, displaying a selection of its milestone moments through audiovisual material, exhibited in the airport’s “Art & Culture” area.
