“Inspired by the Marine Environment” poster exhibition at Athens International Airport.Athens International Airport (AIA) and MEDASSET (Mediterranean Association to Save the Sea Turtles) welcome travelers and airport visitors to the “Inspired by the Marine Environment” poster exhibition, celebrating 25 years of the association’s environmental and conservation work.

This is MEDASSET’s third exhibition at the airport and it offers a view of marine life through the eyes of talented graphic design students.

MEDASSETIn cooperation with AKTO College of Art and Design, MEDASSET held a design competition November-December 2012. All designs were required to promote the need to protect the Mediterranean Sea while raising public awareness of the degradation of the marine environment. Out of 48 works submitted to the competition, 25 were chosen for display by a judging panel.

The three prizewinning designs will be announced during a presentation ceremony to be held at the airport on Friday, 25 January 2013.

Also on display during this exhibition are photographs from MEDASSET’s archive, documenting the organization’s work in protecting sea turtles over the past 25 years.

“Inspired by the Marine Environment” will be accessible to visitors on a 24-hour basis from until 30 April 2013. The exhibition is located in the “Environment and Culture” section of the departure gate (Entrance 3).
