Daniel Day-Lewis is expected in Athens today, Tuesday, 22 January, to attend the Greek premiere of his new film “Lincoln.” According to press reports, the Oscar-winning British-Irish actor will be given a tour of the New Acropolis Museum by Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni. They are expected to attend the “Lincoln” premiere together. Mr. Day-Lewis has been invited to Athens by the Hellenic Spastic Society. He has requested that all proceeds of the premiere be donated to a charity he supports. “Lincoln” is a 2012 American historical drama film directed and produced by Steven Spielberg, starring Daniel Day-Lewis as United States President Abraham Lincoln and Sally Field as Mary Todd Lincoln.
