According to the data, Piraeus Port last year welcomed 2,066,925 cruise passengers compared to 1,864,657 in 2010 (10.85 percent increase). In 2012, Kos and Kavala ports also saw an increase in cruise passengers compared to 2010 (56.83 percent and 83.33 percent increase respectively). On the other hand, cruise passenger traffic in Patras and Thessaloniki saw a plunge (-64.68 percent and -50 percent respectively). ELIME underlined that last year’s data is compared to cruise passenger traffic in 2010 (2011 was left out statistically since the events in North Africa – Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, etc. – altered the itineraries of cruise companies.)
