The event, organized by the Hellenic Athletics Federation in cooperation with the City of Athens, is the absolute test before the next Athens Classic Marathon (10 November 2013) and gives runners a unique opportunity to run along the most historic and significant areas of the Greek capital. The running event will start in front of Syntagma Square and the Greek Parliament and finish in the front yard of Zappeion Megaro. The Half Marathon Race will be held in parallel with a 5km and a 3km Road Race as well as a 600m Race especially designed for people with disabilities and Special Olympics athletes. Registration Runners are invited to submit their registration in time so that they secure their participation. Specific participation limits have been set as to the number of runners; 3,000 runners will participate in the Half Marathon Race, 3,500 runners in the 5km Road Race and another 3,000 in the .
